Nintendo Switch 2 Codenamed 'Muji'? Actually, It's Just a Placeholder

TapTechNews reports on May 11th that the source @CentroLeaks today tweeted that the codename for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console is Muji. However, SciresM, who previously developed custom firmware Atmosphere, clarified that this codename is just a placeholder.

After the disclosure of the Muji codename, it sparked widespread speculation among netizens. Yet, SciresM explained that in Japanese, Muji (無地) means 'nothing,' merely a placeholder specifically for preventing the leakage of new codenames.

This media outlet believes that creating a new codename for the actual codename to keep it a secret from the public is not very common, and Nintendo is likely unique in this practice.

Just like over-interpreting the codename of the Nintendo Switch 2, the term 'successor' used by Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa when describing the Nintendo Switch 2 also proves to be meaningless.
