Microsoft began to deploy the update in July 2024, and after users install the update, Outlook for Windows will be renamed to Classic Outlook, and this name change can be seen in the Start menu, Windows search, taskbar, and other pinned applications.

TapTechNews quoted the content of Microsoft's announcement. This name change will be launched with version 2407 and will not affect the status or support of the application, and will continue to be supported until 2029.

Microsoft stated that it is still committed to supporting Outlook Classic, but the future of the email application on Windows is the Outlook Web application.
