According to TapTechNews' research, the Ariane 6 rocket was initially planned to have its first flight in 2020, but it has been repeatedly postponed due to the pandemic and difficulties encountered in the development.

Since the Ariane 5 rocket completed its last flight in July 2023 (actually the Italian Vega-C commercial rocket had a test flight in 2022 but ended in failure), Europeans have lost the means to independently access space and have since been relying on SpaceX rockets for space launch missions. If this launch is successful, it will represent that Europe will regain the ability to independently access space.
