TapTechNews August 12th news, SAIC MG today announced the official pictures of the new-generation MG5 sedan. The new car belongs to the mid-term facelift model and has been redesigned in the front face, rear and other places, while the body side still maintains the current model's styling.

The new car adopts MG's family-style Hunting Pupil design language. The large-size air intake grille adopts a new design inside, using a combination of vertical spokes and rhombus-shaped middle net, with a strong visual impact. At the same time, the new car's lamp groups have also been redesigned. The side of the car adopts a fastback shape, and the rear is a split-type beam taillight, equipped with 17-inch star-bladed wheels. The car has dimensions of 4715/1842/1473mm (185.6/72.5/58 inches) in length/width/height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2680mm (105.5 inches).

The official announcement stated that the car will make its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show opening this month. The currently available 2023 MG5 was launched in July last year, with a total of 7 available models, with a price range of 67,900 to 99,900 yuan ($9,786 to $14,285).

2023 MG5 is standard with LED headlights, rear parking radar, reverse camera, cruise control, keyless entry for the driver's seat, keyless start, 10.25-inch central control screen, and Hicar connectivity. The top model also has functions such as active braking, lane keeping assist, panoramic imaging, full-speed adaptive cruise, built-in dashcam, and front seat heating. In terms of power, the car is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine.

The 27th Chengdu International Auto Exhibition will be held from August 30th to September 8th, 2024 at the China Western International Expo City in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This exhibition will be the first A-level auto show in the second half of 2024 in China. Domestic A-level auto shows include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Chongqing auto shows.
