Changan Mazda to Recall 9,510 vehicles in the US

TapTechNews May 31 - Changan Mazda Motor Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. As of today, some domestically-produced Mazda CX-50 vehicles produced from February 15, 2023 to September 7, 2023 are recalled, totaling 9,510 units.

For some vehicles within the recall range, due to improper control program of the vehicle control system (VCM), during the vehicle driving, when there is an object such as a sloped wall beside the road, the intelligent driving assistance system will have false detection, resulting in prompt information or prompt tone when there is no collision risk for the vehicle, and in extreme cases, causing false braking of the vehicle, presenting a potential safety hazard.

Changan Mazda Motor Co., Ltd. will upgrade the VCM control program free of charge for the vehicles within the recall range through authorized dealers to eliminate the potential safety hazard.
