Apple toIntroduce 'Apple Intelligence' Feature in iOS 18 with Waiting List System

TapTechNews, Jun 11th. According to the iOS 18 code discovered by MacRumors writer Aaron Perris, Apple will introduce the "Apple Intelligence" feature at some stage in the later stages of the iOS 18 beta version and initially adopt a waiting list system.

In iOS 18, Apple's intelligent function code-named "Graymatter". The code mentions the waiting list and includes specific words such as "join the Graymatter waiting list" and "has joined the waiting list". In addition, it is also called a "limited-time preview" in the code.

Since Graymatter is in the limited-time preview stage, you may encounter extremely slow responses when using it in unsupported regions.

Apple plans to launch "Apple Intelligence" during the iOS 18 beta version this summer, so the limited-time preview and waiting list system may only be used in the testing stage.

TapTechNews noted that considering that other artificial intelligence services such as ChatGPT sometimes have problems due to excessive demand, it is also possible that a waiting list system will be implemented when Apple Intelligence is officially released in iOS 18. Although an iPhone 15Pro or newer model is required to use Apple Intelligence, all iPhone 16 models that will pre-install iOS 18 will also support this function, which will increase the number of people using it at the time of release.

According to Apple, "Apple Intelligence is deeply integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and Mac Sequoia, making full use of Apple's chip's understanding and creation ability of language and image to make a variety of cross-App operations, while combining personal scenes to simplify and accelerate the daily task process for users. Through PrivateCloudCompute, Apple has set a new standard for the privacy function of AI and can flexibly configure and expand computing resources between the device-side process and a larger, server-based model equipped with an Apple chip."
