Stormgate A New RTS Game by Former Blizzard Veterans Launches on Steam Early Access

is a next-generation real-time strategy game set in a brand-new sci-fi fantasy universe. Command mechs to defend Earth or invade it as one of two invading alien factions. Explore an evolving campaign, team up in 3-player co-op against AI, or play in 1v1 mode.

Stormgate plans to have at least one year of Early Access, and currently playable content includes:

Unlimited 1v1 ranked matches

Unlimited 3-player cooperative missions

All heroes in co-op mode can reach up to level 5

BlockadeHero is fully unlocked to the highest level

Custom games (including 2v2 team games)

The game currently has a 60% approval rating on Steam as Mixed. The negative reviews mainly focus on aspects such as completion, co-op mode, and map copyright ownership.

Stormgate is developed by the Frost Giant Studios formed by former Blizzard employees, uses Unreal Engine 5, and supports 4K high-resolution visual effects, allowing hundreds of units to engage in large-scale battles on various styles of maps and atlases.

In late 2023, Stormgate was launched on the Kickstarter platform for crowdfunding, and it completed the $100,000 crowdfunding goal in just 15 minutes.
