TapTechNews July 2nd news, Japan Display Inc. announces the successful development of the world's highest resolution (2.15 inches, 2527 PPI) low-cost glass-based screen.
According to the introduction, this screen is specifically built for VR head-mounted display devices, which helps low-cost VR devices to achieve the display effect that could only be achieved by using the high-cost silicon-based OLEDos technology before.
This 2.15-inch 3840×3840 resolution IPS LCD screen has a pixel density of 2527 PPI, using LTPO (TapTechNews note: Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) and COA (ColorFilter on Array) technologies, while minimizing the screen door effect of traditional VR head-mounted displays.
This screen will be exhibited at the DICEXPO 204 International Display Technology and Application Innovation Exhibition held in Shanghai starting from July 3rd.
