Specifically, Western Digital's exhibits are respectively the performance-level (Performance) product with an 8-channel main controller and external DRAM, and the mainstream-level (Mainstream) product with a 4-channel main controller and DRAM-less.

Both of these solid-state drives are based on the BiCS8 (TapTechNews note: 218 layers) 3D TLC NAND flash memory of the Kioxia-Western Digital alliance and adopt the M.2 2280 form factor.

Among them, Western Digital's Performance product achieved approximately 15GB/s (14956MBps) of sequential read in the test, while the power consumption is only 6.53W, achieving a data transfer energy efficiency of 2298MBps/W. In addition, the random read of this drive can reach 2066.7KIOps.
