Changan Ford's Mondeo Sport Version to Debut at 2024 Chongqing Auto Show

In fact, this car is the model of the previous Ford EVOS product line that has been changed to the Mondeo product sequence and is equipped with a 2.0T petrol-electric hybrid system.

For reference, TapTechNews learned that the current official guide price range of the Ford Mondeo on sale is 149,800 - 219,800 yuan ($21,400 - $31,400), while the official guide price of the Ford EVOS is 199,800 - 259,800 yuan ($28,500 - $37,000).

According to the introduction, the Mondeo Sport version is expected to offer two exterior design styles of the regular version and the ST-Line. The car is more aggressive in appearance compared to the regular Mondeo, with a rough front face design, using a polygonal air intake grille, split headlights and a fastback roof design. The rear of the car adopts a largely inclined rear windshield, personalized double spoilers and through-type taillights.

In terms of specifications, the specific size of the Mondeo Sport version is currently unknown, but the car is expected to be equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and an electric motor. However, the combined maximum output power is 210 kilowatts, and the battery is a lithium nickel cobalt manganese battery provided by BYD, matching with an E-CVT electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. In terms of the power split technology, this hybrid system uses a set of planetary gear mechanism to couple the engine and the generator.
