AndroidAuthority compared the touch sensitivity of Pixel 9 with adaptive touch and Pixel 8Pro without adaptive touch, and the result is obvious: Pixel 9 performs better in wet finger operation than Pixel 8Pro. Touching with wet fingers on the Pixel 9 is very normal, while touching with wet fingers on the Pixel 8Pro will have random jumps and slides.

It is conjectured that the adaptive touch function will also increase the touch sensitivity when the screen protector is detected. Actually, this is not a new function, because Pixel 8 also supports this function. The main difference is that Pixel 9 can automatically adjust its touch sensitivity in more scenarios, not just the screen protector.

Adaptive touch function is enabled by default. If you want to disable it, you can find the toggle switch under Settings > Display > Touch Sensitivity.
