China Successfully launched four satellites with Ceres-1 Marine Launch Vehicle

TapTechNews, May 30th - At 4:12 PM Beijing time on May 29th, in the Yellow Sea off Rizhao City, Shandong Province, China successfully launched four satellites, namely Tianqi Constellation 25 to 28, into their pre-defined orbits using the Ceres-1 Marine Launch Vehicle (Remote 2).

To support the development of commercial aerospace, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology then officially announced that it had issued the radio frequency use license and space radio station license for the above-mentioned satellites to Beijing Guodian High-Tech Technology Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as Guodian High-Tech), and agreed to its carrying out technology verification related to satellite Internet of Things.

The Tianqi Constellation is mainly used to explore the technical feasibility of intelligent applications of low-earth orbit satellite Internet of Things in fields such as ocean, transportation, ecological environment monitoring, natural disaster monitoring, and tourism. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has completed the relevant frequency coordination work in accordance with regulations and legally issued the license, providing radio frequency and orbital resources support for Guodian High-Tech to construct a space-earth integrated low-earth orbit satellite Internet of Things technology test system.

The Tianqi Constellation 25 to 28 are networking satellites of the Tianqi Constellation and can provide global quasi-real-time short data transmission services. TapTechNews has queried and summarized that since the launch and operation of the first satellite in 2018, Guodian High-Tech has successfully deployed and operated 25 Tianqi low-earth orbit satellite Internet of Things satellites.

In February 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released an announcement to include satellite Internet equipment and function virtualization equipment in the current access network license management.

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the radio frequency use license and space radio station license for the Smart Sky Net One 01 Star to support Tsinghua University in carrying out technology verification for medium-earth orbit pan-synchronous orbit broadband communication satellites.
