Scam Alert

TapTechNews May 25th news, according to the report of Blue Whale News today, on some short-video platforms, there often appear editing courses of zero-basis monetization, claiming to realize automatic editing of film and television explanations with the help of software. By uploading these film and television clips, even if there is no play, they can earn thousands of dollars in platform incentives every month, and the monthly income of the account is even no less than 10,000 yuan.

It is reported that recently, the police in many places across the country have investigated several new types of telecommunications fraud cases under the name of editing courses. The police investigation shows that tens of thousands of defrauded people have been found across the country, and most of them are middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old, and the amount involved amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars. Most of these fraud cases use the zero-yuan open class as a bait to induce students to take the bait, and complete all operations in the private domain under the guise of an official title. The corporate WeChat to which the instructor belongs and the merchant corresponding to the payment QR codes twice before and after are different entities, many of which show abnormal operations and no insured persons, and they are scattered all over the country and have not been established for a long time.

Some cases are mentioned in the report, and TapTechNews sorts them out as follows:

A student first saw the promotion on TikTok, and then added the WeChat of the instructor and was diverted to a third-party live-streaming platform. The course includes teaching content such as film and television editing and unmanned live streaming. Even those who don't know anything can create high earnings on the platform. This course claims that it doesn't charge a penny, and there is a no-reason refund if you can't learn. After the open class ended, the instructor with the nickname of TikTok official XXX quickly sent a collection code priced at 2997 US dollars through WeChat chat.

A student, without seeing relevant promotion content, was actively followed and sent a private message by an account named Dou +, also claiming to have a free official live class. At first, the student didn't believe it and didn't attend the class, but the instructor sent this message: The system detected that you did not enter the classroom to learn, so your TikTok account will be restricted in 10 minutes. And after paying nearly 3000 US dollars in tuition, the instructor also said that purchasing a VIP privilege worth 799 US dollars is required to obtain film and television materials.

However, most students realized they were cheated after the instructor stopped distributing materials. Previously, the teacher had sent about 20 materials, basically film slices and explanations that had been simply edited. The students uploaded the videos received from the teacher exactly as they were, If you keep posting, you will see earnings after one month. One month later, the instructor was found to be uncontactable, and there was only a recorded broadcast posing as a live broadcast in the relevant live room.
