Shi Xiaolin, the deputy secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, met with Li Shufu, the chairman of Geely Holding Group, and they jointly attended the signing ceremony.
It was officially announced that the global headquarters and production and manufacturing base of Volocopter under Geely Technology and the Geely (Sichuan) Innovation Center and the national headquarters of industrial software under Geely Holding will be located in the Chengdu High-tech Zone.
Li Shufu said that Geely Holding Group attaches great importance to the cooperation with Chengdu, and the next step will increase the investment layout in Chengdu, deepen cooperation in fields such as the low-altitude economy, commercial vehicles, and new energy, and promote more industries and projects to settle in Chengdu, making greater contributions to the high-quality development of Chengdu.
According to the official introduction, the Volocopter global headquarters and production and manufacturing base project signed this time mainly carries out the research and development and production of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft in the field of low-altitude travel, and is committed to creating a highly competitive low-altitude travel product. The Geely (Sichuan) Innovation Center and the national headquarters of industrial software mainly participate in the construction of intelligent connected scenarios and projects in the Chengdu High-tech Zone, and carry out the research and development, testing, sales and delivery of industrial software products.
TapTechNews found out that Volocopter (AEROFUGIA) is a brand under Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. and is a technology company with low-altitude travel as the core, and its headquarters is located in Chengdu.
At present, Volocopter has two brands, Huck and Volocopter China (a joint venture established with Volocopter in China), and the latter is developing the first certified all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft through the VoloCity model to safely and quietly transport passengers in the city.
