Nintendo to Fully Acquire Shiver Entertainment

TapTechNews May 21 news, Nintendo announced that it will fully acquire Shiver Entertainment, headquartered in Miami, which has been responsible for the Switch version transplantation of several major game titles.

Nintendo announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement with the current owner of Shiver, EmbracerGroupAB, to acquire 100% of its outstanding shares and make it a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Since its establishment in 2012, Shiver has been committed to transplanting game blockbusters such as Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 to the Switch platform.

Nintendo said in a statement: By welcoming Shiver's experienced and productive development team, Nintendo aims to ensure advanced resources for transplanting and developing software games. Looking ahead, Shiver becomes part of the Nintendo group, but the focus will remain the same, continuing to transplant and develop software for multiple platforms including the Switch.

This acquisition is Nintendo's first since its acquisition of NextLevelGames in 2021.
