Strong Growth Expected in OLED Desktop Monitor Shipments in 2024

TapTechNews May 14th news, according to TrendForce's research, the shipment of OLED desktop monitors in the first quarter of 2024 reached 200,000 units, with an annual growth rate of 121%. The growth rate in the second quarter is expected to reach 52%, and the total shipment in the first half of the year could reach 500,000 units.

Due to the strong promotion by OLED panel manufacturers and more brands launching OLED desktop monitors, the full-year shipment of OLED desktop monitors is expected to reach 1.34 million units, with an annual growth rate of 161%.

In the first quarter, Samsung accounted for 36% of the market share, ranking first. Samsung's main sales in the first quarter were 49-inch products. In the second quarter, Samsung will launch new mainstream sizes of 27-inch and 31.5-inch OLED products, which are expected to drive Samsung's OLED shipment performance in the second quarter.

Dell ranked second with a market share of 21%, but its 34-inch OLED monitor sales were poor; LG launched 34-inch and 39-inch products in the first quarter, achieving a new high in shipments, with a market share of 19% and ranking third; ASUS has a complete layout of OLED products ranging from 15.6 inches to 49 inches, with a market share of about 10% in the first quarter, ranking fourth; MSI launched multiple new sizes this year, with competitive pricing, good sales performance, and a market share increasing from 1% to 7%.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, Samsung stated that it became the world's largest OLED monitor brand in just 1 year, with a sales share of 34.7% and a shipment share of 28.3% in the global OLED monitor market, ranking first in 2023.
