Xpeng Motors Intelligent Driving Head Discusses Tesla FSD Entry

TapTechNews June 27th, Li Liyun, the head of intelligent driving of Xpeng Motors, posted an article today, discussing topics related to Tesla's FSD entering China. He said that the road conditions in China and the encounter and interaction with non-motorized vehicles such as e-bikes are one of the headache difficulties faced by FSD when entering China.

Li Liyun indicated that compared to the United States, the road conditions in China are much more complex. Taking the central urban area of Guangzhou as an example, approximately 30% of the roads have no non-motor vehicle lanes, and the situation of Chinese e-bikes occupying motor vehicle lanes is widespread. It's a particularly interesting topic that FSD has a hard time dealing with the 300 million small e-bikes in the country.

But this is everyone's daily life scene, and a good intelligent driving experience requires polishing the daily travel scene experience that everyone faces. Whether intelligent driving in China is good or not needs to be tested in the above-mentioned encounter and interaction scene. Li Liyun also mentioned his own XNGP and claimed that there is abundant experience in dealing with this (referring to the scene of coping with non-motorized vehicles). Not only has it gone through the verification and test of the non-motorized vehicle army in cities such as Nanning, Guangzhou, Kunming, and Nanchang, but also has in-depth thinking and a mature solution in obtaining and balancing the interaction with e-bikes and protecting e-bikes, and at the same time will promote the application of AI to improve such 'close combat' scenes at a faster pace.

According to TapTechNews' earlier report today, Li Liyun once disclosed that Xpeng's XNGP is blacklist-style (except for some specific scenes such as classified areas where it can't be driven, it can be driven on all other roads) and can be driven nationwide, and the technology is at the top of the pyramid, and will be fully pushed in July.
