TapTechNews cited the report. In Samsung's plan, at least 20-30% of the capacity will be transferred to HBM, which may lead to a further tightening of DRAM supply, and the price of DDR5 in the third quarter may increase.

The media reported that Samsung has informed some supply chain partners and asked them to place orders and reserve capacity as soon as possible, indicating that the memory giant's HBM may start shipping smoothly in the second half of the year. This move may also mean that the capacity allocation within Samsung will accelerate, shifting the focus of the production line to HBM.

Supply chain sources believe that Samsung will hold a financial reporting meeting on July 31, and it is very likely to announce the news of passing the Nvidia HBM certification in this event.

The source believes that with the recovery of regular server demand and the continuous transfer of DRAM manufacturers to HBM, it is estimated that the average selling price of DRAM in the third quarter will increase by 8-13%.
