The profit attributable to equity holders was 47.6 billion yuan, an 82% increase year-on-year. Under non-IFRS, the profit attributable to equity holders was 57.3 billion yuan, a 53% increase year-on-year.

Tencent Holdings announced that within the six months ended June 30, 2024, the company purchased a total of 154,730,000 shares on the Stock Exchange at a total cost of approximately HK$52.3 billion (excluding expenses). The repurchased shares have since been cancelled. The repurchase is aimed at enhancing shareholder value in the long term.

Tencent Holdings' Second Quarter Financial Report Highlights

Revenue was 161.12 billion yuan, estimated at 161.35 billion yuan.

Net profit was 47.63 billion yuan, estimated at 39.94 billion yuan.

Operating profit was 50.73 billion yuan, estimated at 51.46 billion yuan.

Adjusted net profit was 57.31 billion yuan.

Sales expense was 9.16 billion yuan, estimated at 9.29 billion yuan.

Value-added services were 78.822 billion yuan, an increase of 6% year-on-year.

Online advertising revenue was 29.87 billion yuan, an increase of 19% year-on-year.

Financial technology and enterprise services were 50.44 billion yuan, an increase of 4% year-on-year.

Domestic market game revenue was 34.6 billion yuan.

International market game revenue was 13.9 billion yuan.

Social network revenue was 30.3 billion yuan, an increase of 2% year-on-year;

WeChat and WeChat combined monthly active accounts were 1.371 billion, an increase of 3% year-on-year;

QQ mobile terminal monthly active accounts were 571 million, unchanged year-on-year;

Paid value-added service registered accounts were 263 million, an increase of 12% year-on-year.

Number of video paid members reached 117 million, an increase of 13% year-on-year.
