TapTechNews June 19th news, Ross Young, the CEO of the screen supply chain consulting firm DSCC, tweeted to his subscribers today (June 19th), indicating that the new panels of Apple's 14-inch and 16-inch MacBookPro models will start shipping in the third quarter of this year, hinting at a launch in the fourth quarter.

Apple launched the iPadPro with the M4 chip in May this year, representing that the AppleSilicon chip has entered the M4 stage. The M4 chip will use a 3nm process and is 25% higher in the GeekBench6 multi-core跑分 than the M3 chip.

According to Apple's previous practice, the entry-level 14-inch MacBookPro is expected to use the M4 chip, while the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBookPro models will be updated to the M4Pro and M4Max chips.

Apple may update the MacBookAir, MacStudio and MacPro product lines in 2025, but it is not yet clear when the iMac product line will be updated.

TapTechNews quoted Gurman's expose in May this year, and Apple is expected to release the MacBookPro and Macmini with the M4 chip in October this year.

Gurman shared the update roadmap of the new Mac devices with the M4 series chips, and TapTechNews attaches the timetable as follows:

Apple will launch a low-end 14-inch MacBookPro equipped with M4 before the end of 2024;

Apple will launch a 24-inch iMac equipped with M4 before the end of 2024;

Apple will launch a new 14-inch and 16-inch high-end MacBookPro equipped with M4Pro/Max chips at the end of 2024 / early 2025;

Apple will launch Macmini with M4 and M4Pro configurations before the end of 2024 / early 2025;

Apple is expected to launch new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBookAir around the spring of 2025;

Apple will launch MacStudio with high-end M4 chips in the middle of 2025;

Apple will launch MacPro with the M4Ultra chip in the second half of 2025.
