China Aerospace Group's Large-Thrust Engine and New Tower System Test Success

TapTechNews September 16, according to the official news of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group today, on the morning of September 11, the joint hot test of the large-thrust engine and the new tower system at the Sheshan Engine Test Station of the 801 Institute of the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. was successfully completed, marking a phased achievement in the construction of the major engineering tasks of this institute.

China Aerospace Science and Technology Group stated that this test not only achieved the goal of the institute to carry out large-scale space engine ground tests efficiently, but also successfully filled the technical gap of noise reduction and noise elimination in the ground hot test of space large-thrust engines, and strongly guaranteed the smooth progress of the subsequent tasks in the institute.

In the test process, long steady-state hot tests of 5 seconds, 50 seconds and 400 seconds were carried out respectively, the large-thrust engine had good matching with the gas diversion device, and the ejection flow field was stable. The engine performance was reliable and in good condition, and various parameters reached the expected values.

TapTechNews learned from the official of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group that the new tower provides more choices for the ground test of engines in the institute, which is helpful to the improvement of test efficiency and the growth of redundancy capacity in the later stage. In addition, the tower itself adopts high-temperature gas expansion and diversion technology, greatly reducing the noise of the engine ground hot test, and improving the environmental friendliness of the large engine hot test.
