Atari's DigitalEclipse to Launch Atari 50 Anniversary Expansion Edition with New Features

TapTechNews June 28th news, Atari's game development/publisher DigitalEclipse announces that it will launch Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition on October 25th, adding 2 timelines and 39 games.

The first timeline is called The Wider World of Atari, which will focus on introducing 19 playable games and 8 new video clips, and Atari promises to reveal some behind-the-scenes stories of game production.

The second timeline is called The First Console War, telling about the competition between Atari's 2600 and Mattel's Intellivision systems, expecting to have 6 video clips and 20 games.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC (Steam) platforms on October 25th.

The physical standard version for PlayStation 5 and Switch costs $39.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 291 Chinese yuan), and the physical collector's tin version for Switch costs $49.99 (currently about 364 Chinese yuan). The latter will include Atari 2600 art cards, miniature arcade marquee signs, Al Alcorn replica Syzygy company business cards and metal packaging boxes.
