MSI previously launched a pair of QD-OLED gaming monitors in 27-inch WQHD and 32-inch UHD specifications, belonging to the lower MAG and higher MPG series respectively. There is no difference in display parameters between the high and low-end models.

However, the two low-end versions of MAG321UPXQD-OLED and MAG271QPXQD-OLED do not have a USB Type-B interface. MSI initially claimed that these two models cannot be updated with firmware.

An MSI official explained on Reddit that according to the situation known by the MSI team, the ability to update firmware is not the focus of consumers' attention. Some users can accept the阉割 in this aspect in exchange for a lower price.

Therefore, MSI launched a pair of monitor products based on the same QD-OLED display panel to meet the needs of different users.

However, after users expressed strong opinions, MSI finally provided firmware update support for MAG321UPXQD-OLED and MAG271QPXQD-OLED.

TapTechNews learned that the MAG271QPXQD-OLED monitor with firmware version FW.012 or higher, and the MAG321UPXQD-OLED with firmware version FW.015 or higher already have the firmware update function.

If the firmware of the monitor in the user's hand is lower than the above version, then it is necessary to contact the service outlet for firmware upgrade to obtain the autonomous firmware function.
