Call of Duty to Split Warzone from Multiple Games and Use Texture Streaming

TapTechNews August 16th news, the official blog of Call of Duty yesterday (August 15th) released a blog post announcing that starting from August 21st, the Call of Duty: Warzone game will be split out from multiple annual Call of Duty games.

TapTechNews note: In the future when players download the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 game, by default only the game body will be downloaded, but players can check to download Call of Duty: Warzone, or download it separately later.

Activision will also start using the texture streaming technology in the Call of Duty games from next week to reduce the overall file download amount. The blog post said:

Through these functions, we can cycle the content that players use less frequently into the streaming media cache, thereby avoiding direct download to the device storage. In the future, more content will be included in this cache.

Due to the file organization method of the game console, PS5 players will have to download four separate files when making these changes, but players on all other platforms of the game only need to download one large file to achieve these improvements in download size.
