China Successfully launched Satellite Internet High-Orbit Satellite 02 with Long March-3B rocket

TapTechNews August 1st news, at 9:14 PM today, China used the Long March-3B carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch the Satellite Internet High-Orbit Satellite 02. The satellite smoothly entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. Referring to TapTechNews' previous report, the Satellite Internet High-Orbit Satellite 01 was launched on February 19 this year.

This satellite was developed by the Institute of Telecommunication and Navigation Satellites, the Fifth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. This launch mission is the 34th launch of China's aerospace in 2024 and the 140th launch of global aerospace. It is the 24th launch of the Long March rocket this year and the total 529th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.

In recent years, with the successive successful launches of the Zhongxing-16, Zhongxing-19, and Zhongxing-26 high-throughput communication satellites, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation's China Satcom has initially built the first high-orbit satellite Internet that completely covers the entire territory of China and key areas along the routes of the countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative. The official also said that it will promote the construction of satellites with larger single-satellite capacity in the future. It is expected that by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the total capacity of high-throughput communication satellites will exceed 500 Gbps. (1 mile = 1.60934 kilometers)
