Microsoft to Raise Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscription Price and Launch New Standard Service

TapTechNews July 10th news, Microsoft announces that it will raise the subscription price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting from September 12th, and at the same time launch a new standard subscription service (not promising first-party Xbox games at launch), just over a year after the last price increase.

For US Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, the subscription price will then increase from $16.99 per month to $19.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 146 RMB).

At the same time, PC Game Pass will also face a price increase from September, rising from $9.99 per month to $11.99 (currently about 87 RMB).

In addition, the Turkish XGP has increased from 209 liras to 309 liras (currently about 68 RMB), and in Argentina it has risen from 5,399 pesos to 6,999 pesos (currently about 55 RMB), and in the Hong Kong region it has increased from 85 Hong Kong dollars to 100 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 93 RMB).

Microsoft previously would have promised to add Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and other large first-party Xbox games to its Game Pass service.

This price increase mainly affects Ultimate subscribers. Microsoft will subsequently offer a Standard subscription option for new users, but it does not include the aforementioned首发 games such as Call of Duty at launch, at $14.99 per month (currently about 109 RMB).

Existing users can still choose the Xbox Game Pass console subscription, but new users will not be able to choose the console version option from July 10th until the new Game Pass Standard subscription goes live.
