MSI to Release High-End Dual-Slot 1DPC Memory Overclocking Motherboard with Intel's Killer5G Wired Network Card

TapTechNews September 24th news, the X platform blogger Chamber (@ChamberTech_) exposed on the 20th of this month the promotional slide of MSI's upcoming high-end dual-slot 1DPC memory overclocking motherboard MEGZ890UNIFY-X, and TapTechNews has previously roughly reported on its specification information.

One notable point is that this motherboard will be equipped with the Killer5G wired network card from Intel. Considering that after Intel acquired Killer, most of the latter's network products are custom vest products based on Intel chips, Intel is highly likely to update the consumer-grade wired network card.

Among the consumer-grade wired network cards previously launched by Intel, the highest rate is the I225 and I226 series that support 2.5GbE; but Intel's biggest competitor in this field Realtek has already launched RTL8126 that supports 5GbE, and this chip has been applied to a few Z790 Refresh half-generation upgrade motherboards and add-on cards.

The addition of Intel will enhance the competitive intensity of the motherboard wired network specification, and players are expected to enjoy a more high-speed wired network experience at a lower price in the future.

Back to the MSI MEGZ890UNIFY-X motherboard, it adopts an 8-layer ultra-low loss PCB, 20 (110A) + 1 + 1-phase power supply design, and is equipped with two PCIe5.0 slots, a single full-length PCIe4.0×4 slot, and a single PCIe4.0×1 slot.

This motherboard is equipped with 2 PCIe5.0 M.2 slots, 4 PCIe4.0 M.2 slots, 6 SATA 6Gbps interfaces, and 1 Killer Wi-Fi 7/BT 5.4 wireless network module. The rear I/O provides 2 Thunderbolt 4 interfaces, and the front I/O provides 1 USB3.2 Gen2×2 Type-C interface that supports 60W PD.
