New repair idea

There is a dedicated connector under the base of the original HomePod and the second-generation HomePod, which is mainly used for diagnosing devices and cannot be connected in a regular way. However, as long as the right tools and adapters are found, the HomePod can be connected to a Mac.

Since the HomePod itself runs a system based on tvOS, developers have already shared on GitHub an OTA file combined with the AppleTV firmware and provided a step-by-step guide to restore the original HomePod software.

The video host said that it has planned to manufacture and sell the USB adapter required to connect the HomePod to the Mac, making it easier for users to repair the broken HomePod at home.
