Smartphone Shipments in the Middle East Rose 20% in Q2 2024

TapTechNews August 16th news, according to the latest report released by Canalys, in the second quarter of 2024, the smartphone shipments in the Middle East (excluding Turkey) reached 11.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

TapTechNews details the performance of specific brands as follows:

Samsung shipped 3.3 million units, with a market share of 28%, a year-on-year decrease of 5%;

Xiaomi shipped 2.3 million units, with a market share of 20%, a year-on-year increase of 70%;

Transsion shipped 1.8 million units, with a market share of 16%, a year-on-year increase of 3%;

Apple shipped 1.1 million units, with a market share of 10%, a year-on-year decrease of 6%;

Honor shipped 700,000 units, with a market share of 6%, a year-on-year increase of 67%.

The report shows that in the second quarter of 2024, driven by the strong growth of the retail and catering industries, the smartphone market in Saudi Arabia soared by 13%. In addition, the UAE market brought a significant growth of 19%, and the shipments in Iraq increased by 22%. Qatar and Kuwait achieved growth of 14% and 17% respectively, driven by holiday consumption and eased inflation.
