Microsoft CEO Nadella Resigns from Starbucks Board

According to the TapTechNews on June 3, documents filed by Starbucks with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on May 30 local time show that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced his resignation from the Starbucks board of directors.

TapTechNews noticed that Nadella did not disclose the specific reason in the resignation letter, but expressed confidence in Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan and the company's senior leadership team. It is worth mentioning that Starbucks' former CEO Howard Schultz posted on LinkedIn calling for the company to 'incerely reflect, refocus on the core business and strengthen discipline' due to the company's performance being lower than expected.

Nadella joined the Starbucks board in 2017 when his former Microsoft colleague Kevin Johnson was about to take over as the Starbucks CEO. Nadella's addition was seen as a crucial complement, which could not only bring insights in the technology field but also share experiences in international operations and distribution.

With Nadella's departure, the Starbucks board currently has 10 members.
