It is reported that this device will be equipped with a large-sized display similar to an iPad, supported by a slender robotic arm, able to tilt up and down and rotate 360 degrees. It will have the functions of a smart home control center, video conference terminal, and home security monitoring. The desktop robot will be equipped with Siri and AppleIntelligence technology, able to respond to a variety of voice commands, recognize different voices, and automatically adjust the display direction to face the users in the room.

Although Apple has explored this concept for many years, Gurman said that Apple has recently given priority to the development of this project, and has handed it over to Apple's vice president of technology, Kevin Lynch, who is in charge of the AppleWatch and the discontinued self-driving car project.

Apple currently plans to launch this device as early as 2026 or 2027, with a target price of about $1000 (TapTechNews note: currently about 7156 Chinese yuan), but the specific plan may be adjusted as the research and development progresses.
