Meta's yet-to-be-released VR headset Quest 3S leaked

To demonstrate the significant reduction of distortion in the new system's screen, Bosworth shared a video comparing the passthrough feature of Quest 3 on versions v66 and v65. However, unlike Meta's official video, Bosworth's video switched to a new scene suspected to be a home office after the opening scene. On the office desk, there was a white headset, with an appearance different from both Quest 3 and Quest 2.

The headset was significantly thicker than Quest 3 but much less curved than Quest 2. As seen in the video, the headset was suspected to have cameras installed on both the side and the front, while Quest 2's camera was only located at one corner of the device.

It is worth noting that the appearance of this headset was very similar to the Quest 3S design that was leaked in the official Quest store recently.

VR enthusiast Luna first discovered this clue and shared his discovery on the X platform. Bosworth seemed to acknowledge this leak incident, and he said in reply to Luna, 'Prefer the higher quality video on Threads...'.

Based on TapTechNews' previous reports, Quest 3S can be regarded as a 'eplaced SoC, added cameras' version of Quest 2, mainly replacing the SoC with Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, while adding '4 infrared sensors, 2 4MP color see-through cameras and 1 depth sensor', and other specifications are the same as the previous Quest 2 headset, including a panel with a single-eye resolution of 1823x1920 (up to 120 Hz support) and Fresnel lenses.
