China Releases Guiding Opinions on Promoting Construction of International Air Hubs

TapTechNews August 23rd news, the Civil Aviation Administration jointly with the National Development and Reform Commission released the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of International Air Transport Hubs (hereinafter referred to as the Guiding Opinions).

The Guiding Opinions made an overall plan for the construction of international air transport hubs, and accelerated the construction of the 3+7+N international air transport hub functional system from aspects such as functional positioning, planning and construction, coordinated operation, and transportation services, and refined and deepened the functional positioning of international air transport hubs.

3 refers to international air transport hubs such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. These three places are the front doors of China's opening up to the outside world, and will enhance their intercontinental connection capabilities and global radiation capabilities. In principle, long-distance international air routes should be reasonably and orderly concentrated in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc..

7 refers to 7 international air transport hubs such as Chengdu, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Kunming, Xi'an, Urumqi, and Harbin, which have relatively strong geographical location comparative advantages and location strategic values, and focus on enhancing the compound functions of location gateway.

N refers to a number of regional air transport hubs, including Dalian, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Jinan, Qingdao, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanning, Haikou, etc.

TapTechNews noticed that the Guiding Opinions, taking 2025, 2035, and 2050 as nodes, planned three stages of development goals for the construction of China's international air transport hubs:

By 2025, the international air transport hub functional system will basically take shape. The scale of transportation production and domestic and international service coverage will be fully restored, the connectivity and transfer efficiency will be accelerated and improved, and the international competitiveness will be accelerated to recover.

By 2035, the international air transport hub functional system will be fully completed. Among them, the international air transport hub with all-round gateway compound functions will accelerate to reach the international first-class level in terms of transportation production scale, international coverage, connectivity and transfer efficiency.

By 2050, a number of world-class aviation enterprises and first-class air transport hubs will be built, and the international air transport hub functional system will be further improved to support China to build a first-class air transport power with strong guarantee, satisfactory to the people, and strong competitiveness.
