OpenEuler 24.03 LTS Version Officially Released

TapTechNews June 6 news, the openEuler 24.03 LTS version release conference (hereinafter referred to as the conference) hosted by the Open Atom openEuler (abbreviated as openEuler) community was held in Beijing today, and the first AI-native open source operating system of the open source Euler openEuler - openEuler 24.03 LTS version was officially released.

This version has achieved upgrades in four aspects: infrastructure, Linux 6.6 kernel, intelligent solution, and full-scenario experience. TapTechNews summarizes as follows:

In the aspect of infrastructure, the openEuler Software Center was first released to help users quickly master the software ecosystem in various fields of the openEuler community; help developers monitor the update situation of upstream software in real time and keep the characteristics consistent with the upstream in real time.

In the aspect of the kernel, it has been upgraded to the Linux 6.6 version, and at the same time participated in contributing capabilities such as dynamic compound pages, and the write performance has been doubled.

In the aspect of the intelligent solution, openEuler upgrades the intelligent solution, and realizes intelligent scheduling, intelligent operation and maintenance, and intelligent tuning through the access of oeAware, A-ops, and A-Tune through the large model natural language interaction platform. At the same time, openEuler more widely supports the southbound hardware and covers the mainstream large models, frameworks and tool chains to enable the full-stack AI and supports inference and retrieval algorithms such as Faiss and DCN, and is compatible with AI frameworks such as OpenViNO and Pytorch to enable basic algorithm libraries such as Numpy and ACL.

In the aspect of full-scenario experience, openEuler has improved the server, cloud, edge to embedded scenarios. In the server scenario, sysSentry can detect 100% of known CPU failures; in the cloud scenario, the memory tidal scheduling realizes an 80% increase in the container speed.

The openEuler official said that in the past four years, the system download volume has covered 2037 cities in 153 countries around the world, and the cumulative installed capacity has exceeded 6.8 million sets. According to the IDC research report, the open source Euler operating system has a market share of 36.8% in the new server operating systems in 2023.

At present, the ARM, x86, RISC-V, and LoongArch four architecture mirrors of the openEuler 24.03 LTS version have been simultaneously launched on the community official website, 37 global mirror points and the distribution channels of mainstream cloud vendors. At the same time, the commercial editions of 12 partners including Kylin Software, Uniontech Software, Kylinsec, China Mobile Su Yan, China Telecom天翼 Cloud, China Unicom Digital, SoftStone, Runhe Software, NingSi, Super Fusion, Zhongke FangDe, and China Soft International will be released successively.
