Microsoft Bing Search Service Downtime and Its Impacts

TapTechNews May 24th news, TapTechNews reported yesterday that Microsoft's global Bing search service experienced a downtime event and lasted for 1 day, but the impact was not only limited to the Bing search website, many services that called the Bing search API were also affected as a result.

Copilot 

Microsoft tweeted through the official Twitter account of Microsoft 365Status, indicating that the Copilot-related services are continuing to recover. Microsoft said it is actively investigating the root cause of the problem and will take further mitigation measures when necessary.

Other impacts

It is reported that the interruption of the Bing API also caused the browser tool of ChatGPT to be paralyzed for several hours. In addition, some DuckDuckGo search engines that used the Bing API were also shut down for several hours.

As of the time of writing, Microsoft has not yet commented on what happened today with the Bing API. The Downdetector website shows that the reports of Bing's failure have decreased since this morning, but have not yet dropped to the normal level.
