US Law Enforcement Agencies Have Mastered Over 7000 LockBit Decryption Keys

TapTechNews June 8th news, in February this year, the UK's National Crime Agency, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies from 11 countries, launched a crackdown on the extremely rampant LockBit hacker organization in recent years, successfully obtaining control over all 22 dark web sites used by the hackers to post victim information. Since then, the law enforcement agencies have released the decryption tool Lockbit3.0Ransom for the LockBit 3.0 ransomware, claiming that it can unlock files encrypted by hackers through the known key built into the software.

And at the Boston Cybersecurity Conference held recently, Bryan Vorndran, the assistant director of the US FBI involved in the relevant actions, revealed that currently, the law enforcement agencies have mastered more than 7000 decryption keys for the LockBit ransomware, which can help most victimized companies unlock various important data encrypted by hackers.
