The photos displayed at the event show all the internal components of the blade servers, including the powerful AMD Instinct MI300A APU.

The blade server, called the HPE Cray Supercomputing EX255a Accelerator Blade, is a single-slot 1U blade chassis that can accommodate up to 8 AMD MI300A chips internally, with heat dissipation through copper blocks and copper pipes. TapTechNews has attached an image below:

The blade server also utilizes a water cooling solution to quickly dissipate the heat generated by the MI300A chips. The rated TDP of each MI300A APU is 550W, with a peak power of 760W. This means the cooling system of the blade needs to handle up to 6080W of power or at least be able to manage an average of 4400W.

Each blade contains two 4-slot node cards, with each card having two MI300A APUs. If needed, each blade can also include an additional NVMe SSD and come with four to eight access ports for connecting to El Capitan's HPE Slingshot-11 network system.
