OPPO's Internal Changes and Employee Issues Amidst Reform

TapTechNews July 16th news, Xinliu Think Tank reported that since OPPO began to promote the Huawei-style channel reform within the company in the second half of last year, various agency companies and factories across the country have all laid off Huawei-related employees by the end of the year. They believe that the large number of resignations of these Huawei-related employees is actually a purposeful layoff behavior by the company finding a formal reason.

In response, OPPO officially responded to Sina Technology, stating that this statement is false and unsubstantiated information related to the enterprise, and reports based on this assumption are not valid.

TapTechNews learned from public reports that OPPO had recruited a large number of Huawei-related employees after 2019, with the purpose of learning the Huawei channel system - the key account model, using provincial branches to cover national distributors, and strengthening overall planning to improve efficiency to ensure profits.

The Xinliu report pointed out that from the results, there are significant problems with this transformation. The key account model of Huawei has a relatively large conflict of interest with the existing secondary distributor model of OPPO, and OPPO's strategy this year is to protect profits.

In addition, Huawei employees often need to form a Huawei-related team within OPPO to truly play a role, which is quite different from the style of OPPO employees.

The Xinliu report disclosed that since the middle of last year, OPPO has conducted an internal self-examination, asking each employee involved to surrender themselves, indicating how much money they have taken from the company and how many reimbursements have taken an irregular path. OPPO has laid off a large number of Huawei-related employees in this self-examination, while the punishment for OPPO's old employees is relatively less, not because there are fewer OPPO old employees involved, but because the punishment intensity is relatively lighter.
