She said that the energy storage super factory will be completed as planned in 2025, which is also the first energy storage super factory outside the US mainland; and the Tesla Shanghai Super Factory will continue to maintain the current production and has great confidence in the Chinese market.
In addition, in response to the expansion of Tesla Supercharging stations and the problem of expensive prices reported by consumers, Tao Lin said that the expansion work of Tesla Supercharging stations in the Chinese mainland has always been in progress, and the price is a market behavior and will try to meet the market demand.
The Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory of Tesla was held a groundbreaking ceremony on May 23 this year, and it is expected to be put into production in the first quarter of 2025. After being put into production, the output of the Megapack of super-large electrochemical commercial energy storage systems will reach 10,000 units, and the energy storage scale will be nearly 40 gigawatt-hours.
According to the introduction, the total land area of this project is about 200,000 square meters, and the total investment is about 1.45 billion yuan. Since the investment intention was determined last December, the project service package newly launched in the field of engineering construction in the Lingang New Area has been used.
The Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory of Tesla is located in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai, covering an area of about 200,000 square meters. The factory is close to the Tesla Shanghai Super Factory. The Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory of Tesla is the first energy storage super factory outside the US mainland and also another large-scale investment project in China after the Shanghai Super Factory since Tesla entered China ten years ago.
