Remake of Final Fantasy Tactics Is Under Development

TapTechNews June 14th, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier replied to a netizen's question in the Reddit community 2 days ago, indicating that a remake of the game Final Fantasy Tactics is under development.

A netizen, BuyMyBeans, wrote: We finally have news of a Final Fantasy Tactics Remake from a senior leaker, and in a week, that leaker may not be so trustworthy anymore. This torture never ends.

Schreier then replied to the netizen, saying: The Final Fantasy Tactics Remake does exist.

In the list of games for Nvidia's GeForce Now streaming service that was leaked in 2021, two unannounced Final Fantasy games planned for release, including a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics and a remake of Final Fantasy 9.

Nvidia later confirmed that the list was real but claimed that it was only used for internal testing and that the listed games didn't necessarily exist, but that didn't stop people from speculating.

TapTechNews checked the public information, and Final Fantasy Tactics was initially released on the Japanese PlayStation in 1997 and in North America in 1998.

The game was later renamed Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War and was released on the PSP in 2007 and then ported to iOS in 2011 and Android in 2017, but the game hasn't been re-released on consoles since the original PS1 version.
