Basemark's BreakingLimit Benchmark Test A New Ray Tracing Test Coming Soon

TapTechNews June 14th news, Basemark's GPUScore team has recently launched the page of the BreakingLimit benchmark test on their official website and stated that this cross-platform ray tracing test is about to be launched.

BreakingLimit supports ray tracing techniques such as shadows, reflections, and global illumination, while targeting both the mobile and PC scenarios, it is convenient to compare the performance of different devices running the same ray tracing load.

TapTechNews learned that the BreakingLimit benchmark test includes a standard version for lower-performance GPUs and an Ultra version specifically for high-end desktop GPUs.

Among them, the standard version supports Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms and will run on DX12, Vulkan 1.3, and Metal 3 APIs.

While BreakingLimitUltra is limited to Windows 10 and above systems and Ubuntu 20 and above versions of the Linux distribution, in addition to the native resolution test, there are also tests for the two super-resolution technologies, DLSS2 and FSR2.

However, the GPUScore official website has not yet mentioned the support of BreakingLimit for the masOS and iPadOS systems and the super-resolution solutions of Apple and Intel.
