On August 13th in northern Taiwan, there was a thunderstorm. The 161kV transmission line of Taipower Company tripped at 13:15 on that day, resulting in a total power outage at the Huilong distribution substation and affecting the power supply in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, Shulin District and Guishan District, Taoyuan City.

According to Nanya Technology's press release, in this power outage event, thepersonnel safety of the company's employees was not affected, but some machines in the factorysuspended operation, resulting in damaged wafers. Nanya Technology is fully repairing the equipment and resuming production, and it is expected to complete the machine restoration within 2 to 3 days.

According to Taiwan media TechNews report, the factory area of DRAM memory giant Micron is also within the affected range of the power outage. Micron responded to this event by saying: Micron's Taoyuan and Taichung factory areas experienced a voltage drop due to the lightning strike event on August 13th, Micron confirms that all colleagues are safe and the operation is as usual.
