This move means that it is the first time for NVIDIA to launch products on a large scale in the Middle East, and Ooredoo will be the first company in the region that can provide direct access rights to NVIDIA's AI and graphics processing technologies for its data center customers. Previously, Washington had restricted the export of US-made cutting-edge chips to the region.

TapTechNews note: The five Middle Eastern countries mentioned above include Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait. In addition to this, the region where Ooredoo deploys NVIDIA's AI technology also includes the country outside the Middle East - Maldives.

Ronnie Vasishta, senior vice president of NVIDIA's telecommunications business, said that providing this technology will enable Ooredoo to better help its customers deploy generative AI applications.

The CEO of Ooredoo further stated that our B2B customers will be able to obtain this service, while their competitors may still need 18 to 24 months to obtain this service. In addition, Ooredoo is investing 1 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 7.28 billion Chinese yuan) to increase by 20-25 megawatts on the basis of the current 40-megawatt capacity, thereby doubling the capacity of the regional data centers.
