On September 27th, Sony Honda Mobility announced that its upcoming electric vehicle AFEELA will support the NACS charging standard.

Sony Honda Mobility has thus become the first company in Japan to support the NACS charging standard, meaning its AFEELA electric vehicle will be able to use Tesla's Supercharger V3 and V4 networks. Max deZegher, Tesla's charging business director, emphasized that its Supercharger network accounts for 90% of the 150kW+ charging piles in Japan, and expressed welcome to Sony Honda Mobility as the first enterprise in Japan to adopt the NACS standard.

deZegher pointed out: Tesla Supercharger is the largest charging network in the world, with 60,000 Superchargers and continuously growing. In Japan, 90% of the 150kW+ charging piles are Tesla Superchargers. In line with Tesla's mission, we hope to help more companies switch to electrification and improve the charging experience of all electric vehicle drivers. Therefore, we are very pleased to see the North American Charging Standard (NACS) recognized in Japan and welcome Sony Honda Mobility as the first Japanese automaker to join this trend.
