Boeing Union Strike Update Negotiations Break Down, Workers Continue to Strike

TapTechNews September 29th news, according to a report by Bloomberg on September 28th, the largest union of Boeing said that the negotiation with this aircraft manufacturer has been interrupted as the two sides failed to reach an agreement that may solve the strike issue. No progress has been made on the pension issue, and the company will not have substantial contact on issues such as raising wages and accelerating wage growth, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers announced.

The association said that there are currently no further talks scheduled. The two sides have differences on the wages and other demands of about 33,000 union members. Workers have been on strike since September 13th, causing Boeing factories near Seattle to come to a standstill.

The 33,000 Boeing employees in the Seattle area and Oregon in the US went on strike at midnight local time on September 13th, causing about 100 million US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 700 million RMB) in losses to Boeing every day.
