AMD Releases New Processors for AM4 Platform with Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT

TapTechNews July 31 news, AMD launched the Ryzen brand in December 2016, and the first-generation Ryzen 1000 processor was launched in just three months, and it has been eight years since then.

Tonight, AMD has launched two more processors for the AM4 platform - Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT. AMD said that currently the AM4 platform has 145 different CPU models, which is already the ninth year in the life cycle of AM4; while the new-generation AM5 platform currently has 38 CPUs and is planned to be supported beyond 2027.

These two CPUs are now available on platforms such as Best Buy and Newegg. The 5800XT and 5900XT are priced at $249 (TapTechNews note: about 1805 RMB currently) and $349 (about 2529 RMB currently).

The core count and TDP configuration of AMD R9 5900XT are basically the same as those of the flagship R9 5950X, except that the frequency is 100 MHz lower. R7 5800XT is almost exactly the same as R7 5800X, and the only upgrade is that the frequency is increased by 100 MHz.
