BYD Unveils Seal 06GT with Striking Design, Set to Debut at Chengdu Auto Show

TapTechNews August 24th news, BYD today released three official pictures of the Seal 06GT, showing its front, side and rear designs, claiming to be the first GT for young people, and the new car will be unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30th.

As can be seen from the poster, the Seal 06GT adopts the family-style front face design of the Ocean Network, which is basically the same as the currently sold Seal 06DM-i. The side of the body adopts a hidden door handle design, combined with a low-profile shape to reduce wind resistance, and the rear uses a through-type taillight design. Previously, BYD officially called this car the first two-box rear-wheel drive pure electric cannon in the industry.

TapTechNews learned from the information declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that the length, width and height of this new car are 4630/1880/1490 millimeters (about 182.3/74/58.7 inches) respectively, and the wheelbase is 2820 millimeters (about 111 inches). The single-motor model provides two different power drive motors, and the maximum power is 160 kilowatts and 165 kilowatts respectively. The dual-motor model is equipped with a front AC asynchronous motor and a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor, and the power of the two motors is 110 kilowatts and 200 kilowatts respectively.

The 27th Chengdu International Auto Show will be held from August 30th to September 8th, 2024 in China Western International Expo City in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This exhibition will be the first A-class auto show in the second half of China in 2024, and domestic A-class auto shows include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing auto shows.
