Xiaomi Motors' New Upgrade SU7's Intelligent Parking with Mechanical Garage Function

TapTechNews September 25th news, Xiaomi Motors announced today that the intelligent parking assistance capability of the Xiaomi SU7 has brought a new upgrade: on the basis of supporting more than 200 types of parking such as side parking, space parking, and extremely narrow parking spaces, a brand-new mechanical garage parking function was recently launched, and it is comprehensively pushed through OTA.

According to the introduction, compared to traditional parking spaces, the width of the inner groove of the mechanical garage may only be 2.05 meters (about 6.7 feet), and the adjustment margin on one side is only 0.05 meters (about 0.2 inches). Xiaomi independently developed the end-to-end mechanical garage parking algorithm solution, integrating the perception and decision-making algorithm modules into one, through real-time observation and dynamic adjustment, it can accurately park in the minimum 5 cm (about 2 inches) on one side of the mechanical garage, solving the problem that traditional parking algorithms cannot park in ultra-narrow mechanical garages, and improving the maintenance efficiency of the system.

Xiaomi Motors stated that this solution integrates the image information of 11 cameras and enhances the system's prediction ability of the distance between the vehicle and obstacles by simulating the perception method of the human eye through the algorithm. In addition, this solution analyzes and processes the perceived image information through the algorithm, fully observing and comparing the vehicle posture and the gap with the garage. It's like a commander standing outside the car, providing drivers with accurate adjustment instructions such as 'adjust slightly to the left' or 'turn another round to the right', ensuring that when the vehicle is close to 0.5 meters (about 1.6 feet) in front of the garage, the position and posture have been adjusted accordingly, so that it can smoothly park in the parking space.

As a result, the vehicle can make more strategic and intelligent judgments automatically according to the on-site situation, and easily adjust the vehicle position and posture, achieving a 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) safety warning distance between the outside of the garage and the wheel hub, and achieving a 1 cm (about 0.4 inches) accurate warning effect inside the garage.
