This system was jointly developed by the 101st Institute of the Sixth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and successfully produced liquid hydrogen on August 18th, which is a major breakthrough in the field of large-scale liquid hydrogen preparation in China, and will boost the industrialization process of large-scale application of liquid hydrogen, providing important technical and equipment foundations for promoting the transformation of the energy structure and achieving the 'dual carbon' goals.

This system has conquered five key core technologies such as the hydrogen Claude cycle hydrogen liquefaction process design, large-scale efficient continuous ortho-para hydrogen conversion heat exchange technology, high-speed gas journal bearing hydrogen turbine expander, large-scale cryogenic horizontal cold box zoned integration process, and variable condition adaptive one-click start-stop control logic. In the full operating condition process, the operation of each process equipment is stable, the parameters of each node in the cold box are highly matched with the design parameters, and all performance indicators are better than the design values, which is another milestone achievement in the field of hydrogen liquefaction after the successful development of the 2 tons/day helium expansion hydrogen liquefaction cold box in September 2021.
