Huawei Launches Developer Evangelist Program
TapTechNews June 24th news, at the 2024 Huawei Developer Conference (HDC 2024), Zhang Ping'an, the Standing Director of Huawei and CEO of Huawei Cloud, officially announced the launch of the Developer Evangelist Program, planning to continuously invest in the next 3 years and develop 3000 evangelists including university teachers, students and developers, mainly for promoting the ecosystems such as Kunpeng, Ascend, Hongmeng, and Huawei Cloud.
The program will provide various resources and support for evangelists in aspects such as industry-university cooperation, technical training, development resources, activity support, platform support, and development operation.
Evangelists can convey technical knowledge and practical experience to more developers through forms such as courses, textbooks, practical projects, technical associations, competitions, and technical evangelism activities, promoting the co-construction of the developer ecosystem and brand.
The official of Huawei stated that no matter whether they are university teachers, students, or developers, as long as they meet the corresponding application conditions, they can independently apply to join this program.
On June 22nd, Zhou Hong, the head of the Huawei Strategy Research Institute, presented certificates to the first batch of 29 teachers who attended the Developer Evangelist Roundtable of the 2024 Huawei Developer Conference (HDC 2024).
Teacher access conditions
① On-duty teachers in a state-recognized academic institution (such as universities and colleges) (required)
② Have signed the Huawei Developer Agreement and joined the Huawei Developer Program (required)
③ Familiar with and master one or more open capabilities of Huawei technologies (required)
④ Have technical output such as courses, textbooks/teaching plans, practical courseware, live broadcasts, course videos, technical articles, etc., and continuously help others grow technically (required)
⑤ Incorporate Huawei technologies into teaching/guide students to carry out practical innovation and achieve certain results (required)
⑥ Through courses, it can stably cover a certain number of students and guide students to obtain the certification of Huawei technologies
⑦ Have the experience of giving speeches and sharing in technical conferences and seminars organized by Huawei or spontaneously organized by themselves
⑧ Serve as a lecturer in teacher training to share the teaching and practical achievements cases of relevant industrial technologies of Huawei
⑨ Have successful experience in industry-university cooperation projects with Huawei and output valuable industry-university cooperation results
⑩ As a mentor to guide students to participate in competitions or practical projects related to Huawei technologies and achieve certain results
Student access conditions
① In-school students in a state-recognized academic in stitution (such as universities and colleges) (required)
② Have signed the Huawei Developer Agreement and joined the Huawei Developer Program (required)
③ Familiar with and master one or more open capabilities of Huawei (required)
④ Achieve certain results in practical innovation/projects by integrating Huawei technologies with in-school courses (required)
⑤ Use the open capabilities of Huawei technologies to have certain achievements and technical influence in the developer community/open source community (required)
⑥ Lead or participate in competitions related to Huawei technologies and achieve certain results
⑦ Have case/experience sharing experiences in developer activities, technical summits, and technical seminars organized by Huawei or spontaneously organized by themselves
⑧ Serve as an organizer or core member of a university technical association, with the ability to lead and guide association members to learn, communicate and carry out innovative practices around the open capabilities of Huawei technologies
⑨ Have the experience of serving as a Huawei campus ambassador, with certain organizational ability and the experience of assisting Huawei to carry out campus developer activities, promote competitions and employer brand
